St. Paul Cathedral

These small mosaics (16x16cm) were initially made at London School of Mosaic to be sold at St. Paul's Cathedral gift shop. The designs were developed from motifs of the cathedral's ceiling and floor mosaics. We used recycled leftover tiles that would otherwise end up in landfill to add varied shapes, colours and textures as well as to reduce cost. The result of this is a truly original piece of artwork.
My favourite motif is the dove of peace with an olive branch as it symbolises calm after chaos, hope after hardship and a fresh start.
