Religious mosaics are inspiring with its durability and brightness, creating a sacred environment, lifting worshippers' minds towards the divine. I particularly enjoyed making the Virgin Eleousa or Sweet Kiss icon, which symbolises God's love for the entire human race and reminds us of His incarnation and sacrifice for the salvation of all mankind. It also represents the unity of the earthly and heavenly, spiritual and material.
